Sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind and indulge in a thick, savory mound of pizza dip.

Dip a cracker or a nice chunk of crusty bread into this pizza dip and you’ll be wanting more before your hips can even respond.

Next time you need a party appetizer, try Pizza Dip Stuffed Bread! Savory and very filling appetizer recipe.

I’ve been making this pizza dip recipe for a few years now, but it was always in a square casserole dish. Then as I’ve scrolled through my Pinterest feed I’ve seen several delicious-looking dip recipes that have been baked in a baguette, or in French bread.

So I thought, “Why not?”! And now for your savory satisfaction, we have …

Pizza Dip Stuffed Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 of a 14 oz. jar pizza sauce

Directions

Prepare French bread by cutting around the top with a serrated bread knife using a downward angle (I remember in the ’90s Subway restaurants called it a “U-gouge” cut!). This allows you to skip a step of pulling out bread to hollow out the bread a bit. I didn’t make mine very hollow – if you want a lot of dip you may increase the volume of ingredients and hollow out the bread more. Set aside top of bread.

Mix together softened cream cheese, mayo, 1/2 cup mozzarella and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheeses, Italian seasoning and garlic powder until well blended. If your cream cheese is soft enough this can be done with a spoon or spatula; otherwise you might use a hand mixer.

Spoon and spread cheese mixture into bottom of bread. Top with 1/2 jar pizza sauce on top of cheese. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 25 minutes. While it’s baking, cut top of bread into chunks for dipping. Serve warm.

You will not believe your taste buds how delicious this pizza dip is!
