Who is your Wonder Woman?

Let me ask you something … who is your wonder woman?

Who is your wonder woman?

Do you have a female in your life that is a powerful role model for you?

Your grandmother. Mom. Sister. Or a friend.

And what about if you look globally and historically … Sacajawea. Margaret Thatcher. Michelle Obama. Eleanor Roosevelt. Gloria Steinem. Oprah. To name a few.

Here’s where I’m going …

I recorded the Wonder Woman movie which was playing on HBO through my Xfinity Instant TV service last week, so my oldest daughter and I could watch it. And WOW … just … WOW.

Mallory is 13 and a self-proclaimed feminist. What once was “I can do it myself!” at age 3 has morphed into refusing to let her dad open the door for her when we walk into a restaurant. (Sayonara, chivalry.)

She is brave and fierce, the first one to protect me from spiders, and thrives on going against the grain.

So needless to say she REALLY loved watching Wonder Woman. The strong female heroine saves the day, with skills of deflecting bullets with bracelets and lassoing to obtain the truth.

But it’s not all fiction.

We have real, powerful female role models walking among us. And they’re not necessarily celebrated with awards or medals or recognition.

They’re the ones that seek out someone who could use a friend.

They’re those that serve others even without expecting something in return.

They’re the girls in junior high that stand up to bullies.

They’re the voices of those without a voice.

My girls are my wonder women.

One is fierce, the other is gentle.

Through both I learn compassion and patience, and I try to always teach my children that kindness matters.

It’s a lesson that transcends gender and time.

About Xfinity Instant TV

You can catch Wonder Woman and a whole lot more through the Xfinity Instant TV service. With Xfinity Instant TV, you pay for the channels you want to watch. At a really affordable price, and with no cable box.

I tried it out with the Kids & Family bundle as well as the HBO premium channel, but you choose what’s right for your family from these options.

Xfinity offers a variety of themed channel packs that you can use to monitor your children’s entertainment-viewing – exposing them to women-empowering shows that can be seen in the Entertainment pack (like Wonder Woman) or appropriate programs in the Kids & Family pack.

Instant TV is great for those who have recently cut the cord, and miss having access to their favorite entertainment.

Learn more about Xfinity Instant TV and how it can fit into your life. Also available is Xfinity Prepaid Instant TV, with no annual contract, no deposit and no credit check.

This post was sponsored by Xfinity, but all words and opinions are 100% my own. See my disclosure policy for more info.
