Some of the best tasting chocolate, cheeses, sauces and yes – even wine, is made right here in Indiana. And thanks to Indiana Artisan, I was able to sample these and much more as I browsed the displays at their Marketplace events this weekend at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
If you happened to read my post in which I gave away a pair of tickets, then I hope you were able to take an hour or so out of your weekend and visit Indiana Artisan.
My budget was small, but I purchased a bottle of Sage’s Simple Syrups because he had me at “mix with champagne”. For a non-beverage use, these syrups make a great vinaigrette too!
I also picked up a Stampin Ground Cheddar Cheese Spread from Dad’s Favorites in Louisville, and Lordy does it have a kick at the end. Surprise! If I don’t eat it with a spoon and a water back, I’ll try it on grilled cheese with some provolone to soften said kick.
And the crafts – we saw beautiful pottery, photography, glassware and much more.
I love supporting local and small businesses, and encourage you to keep this on your mind for the next time the Indiana Artisan Marketplace rolls around! You can do this by following Indiana Artisan on Facebook, on Twitter, and on Pinterest.
And be sure to check around here for more local Indiana-related posts!
